During the May Day holiday, domestic travel consumption surged, with Fosun Tourism Group’s vacation products achieving full occupancy across multiple resorts and destinations, solidifying its leadership in the leisure travel sector.

As a benchmark domestic resort destination, Sanya Atlantis welcomed 120,000 visitors from May 1 to 5, with an average hotel occupancy rate of 94%. The resort celebrated its 7th anniversary with The Seventh Movement—a limited-time carnival event featuring a large-scale mechanical installation show, dance performances, singing, rap bands, and theatrical acts at Aquaventure Waterpark. The Lost Chambers Aquarium introduced rare marine species such as Japanese spider crabs, arapaima, and weedy sea dragons, offering guests a mesmerizing experience.

Short-haul urban and suburban vacations continued to gain popularity. Club Med Joyview and Club Med URBAN OASIS resorts attracted urban families with their all-inclusive packages, featuring sports, entertainment, leisure facilities, G.O. happiness butlers, kids’ clubs, and evening interactive shows. During the holiday (May 1–4), six resorts in Nanjing Xianlin, Taicang, Anji, Yanqing, Heilongtan, and Qiandao Lake achieved an average occupancy rate exceeding 95%, with multiple properties fully booked for three consecutive days.

Taicang Alps International Resort received nearly 30,000 visitors during the holiday, including 20,000 at Alps Snow World, reinforcing its role as a Southern China winter sports hub. Club Med URBAN OASIS Taicang Resort reported a 96% average occupancy from May 1–4, with full occupancy from May 1–3. The resort hosted a Southeast Asian food festival and a “Floral Wild Glamping BBQ,” combining skiing and camping experiences. New attractions like the 100-meter racing slide, Aurora Dream 2.0, and interactive games debuted at Snow World. Over 90% of guests were from Shanghai and Jiangsu, highlighting the resort’s appeal within a one-hour drive radius.

For long-haul destinations, Lijiang Club Med Resort welcomed over 10,000 visitors from May 1–4, with Club Med Lijiang achieving over 90% occupancy and near-full occupancy from May 1–3. The resort launched the Amets’ New Carnival series, featuring international art exhibitions, mountain-inspired art gatherings, frisbee competitions, a fantasy nature kingdom, bonfire dances, and fireworks, catering to families and cultural enthusiasts alike.

Club Med Guilin maintained over 90% occupancy from May 1–4, nearing full capacity on May 3–4. Notably, boosted by the recent launch of the Hong Kong-Guilin high-speed rail tourism route, the resort saw a 248% year-on-year surge in inbound tourism revenue.

As China’s travel market shifts from sightseeing to experiential vacations, differentiated, high-quality offerings have become key growth drivers. Fosun Tourism Group will continue to innovate immersive vacation experiences tailored to family needs.
