Haikou, China – April 13-18, 2025 – The 5th China International Consumer Products Expo (“CICPE”) is being grandly held at the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center. Fosun Tourism Group (“Fosun Tourism”) is showcasing its premium international vacation brands—including Atlantis Sanya, Club Med, and the ULTRAMED project in Hainan—at Booth 1B05 in the New Consumption Technology Zone in Hall 1, marking its fifth consecutive year of participation.
Xu Xiaoliang, Co-CEO of Fosun International and Chairman of Fosun Tourism Group, stated:
“Amid increasing global economic and geopolitical uncertainty, CICPE has grown in strategic significance. It not only serves as a barometer for global brands choosing and trusting China, but also a vivid embodiment of the country’s commitment to high-level opening-up. Fosun Tourism hopes to leverage this opportunity, rooted in Hainan and oriented globally, to continuously integrate into China's broader strategy to expand domestic demand, stimulate consumption, and promote high-quality development through innovation and superior service.”
As the only national-level exhibition themed around consumption in China, CICPE has become a vital platform for understanding consumer trends and connecting global resources. This year’s event brings together over 4,100 brands from more than 70 countries and regions, further expanding in both scale and influence. As a long-term participant, Fosun Tourism once again promotes upgraded domestic tourism consumption through its world-class vacation offerings.
As an iconic landmark of Hainan’s cultural tourism sector over the past six years, Atlantis Sanya has welcomed over 27 million visitors since its opening in 2018. With constantly refreshed and unique experiences, the resort delivers surprises year after year. In 2024 alone, Atlantis received 6.29 million visitors, achieving an average hotel occupancy rate of 84%—a record high.
At this year’s expo, Atlantis Sanya presents a special “Fantasy Ocean Adventure” experience to mark its 7th anniversary. During the May Day holiday, guests can challenge 36 thrilling waterslides, interact with the dazzling “Seven Sons of the Ocean” NPCs, and enjoy the spectacular anniversary show “The Seventh Symphony,” featuring a fire-breathing mechanical octopus. Guests can also visit The Lost Chambers Aquarium to explore newly introduced rare and endangered marine species—the largest and most unique of their kind in the world.
As the global pioneer of the all-inclusive vacation model, Club Med is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year. Since opening its first resort in China in 2010, Club Med has expanded to 11 resorts across the country, covering destinations ranging from snow mountains to forests to cities. Its 12th resort in China is expected to open in Longwu, Hangzhou by the end of the year.
At CICPE 2025, Club Med is introducing its luxurious Exclusive Collection cruise product to the Chinese market for the first time: the French-style sailing yacht. This elegant sailing experience embodies the art of slow living, offering activities such as water-skiing, sailing, stand-up paddle boarding, yoga, and spa treatments. With its shallow draft and compact size, the yacht can dock at charming small towns and islands in the Mediterranean and Caribbean—places unreachable by conventional cruise ships—providing guests with a refined cultural and culinary journey.
One of the core highlights of this year’s expo is the deep integration of AI and other emerging technologies in the consumer sector. The expo debuts the “New Consumption Technology Zone,” showcasing cutting-edge innovations such as humanoid robots, low-altitude aircraft, and autonomous vehicles—demonstrating a new era of tech-driven consumption.
As a leader in tourism innovation, Fosun Tourism is showcasing its latest “Tech + Tourism” advancement: the ULTRAMED project. Located in Haitang Bay, Sanya—adjacent to Atlantis—the project is designed with a futuristic “civilization of technology” concept. It features applications such as AI G.O (a digital concierge), flying cars, and smart hotels, aiming to create the world’s first AI-themed vacation destination.
In addition to fully personalized and intelligent service experiences, UltraMed will offer a wide range of immersive content. The project includes a cultural performance center, luxury hotels, crystal lagoons, trendy sports, surfing, diving, and more, integrating tourism with cultural, entertainment, wellness, and retail consumption. In the future, UltraMed will form a “super vacation cluster” with Atlantis, becoming a vital pillar in Hainan’s ambition to become a world-class tourism destination.
Bao Jiangjun, CEO of Fosun Tourism Group, stated:
“Having cultivated Hainan for over a decade, Fosun Tourism has been both a witness and a contributor to the province’s tourism transformation. Since the launch of Atlantis Sanya in 2013, the resort has contributed over RMB 3 billion in taxes and created more than 3,000 jobs annually—playing a key role in boosting the local economy and upgrading tourism consumption. As the AI era accelerates, we will seize the opportunities of technological disruption, fully advance the UltraMed project, and build a new urban icon for Sanya—joining hands with Hainan to usher in the next ‘Golden Decade’.”
