Qian Jiannong Promoted FOLIDAY Lifestyle in ITB Berlin Opening Ceremony

(Berlin, Mar. 6) ITB Berlin, the world's leading travel trade fair kicked off  in Berlin on March 6th. Over 10,000 exhibitors from 181 countries and representatives of the global tourism industry, the United Nations World Tourism Organization(UNWTO) and tourism bureaus are expected to join the largest tourism trade fair in the world. Along with business leaders such as Stephen Kaufer, Trip Advisor CEO, Sebastien Bazint, Accor CEO, Jim Qian Jiannong, Fosun Tourism Chairman and CEO was invited to speak in the opening ceremony, and it is the first presence of Fosun Tourism  Group (FTG) in ITB Berlin.

 

In the executive panel on  "China’s Power and Global Ambitions" , Jim Qian delivered a keynote speech to promote the FOLIDAY ecosystem, an innovative lifestyle created by FTG, followed by a panel discussion on the challenges and opportunities facing the globalization of Chinese enterprises, together with Zhao Ying, partner of Alibaba Group, and Qu Yunzhen, Trip.com CPO,

 

ITB Berlin is the largest B2B tourism exhibition in the world. It is also known as the biggest marketplace of the international tourism industry and plays a great role in promoting.

 

The outlook is exceptionally good for ITB Berlin as final preparations are under way for the 53rd edition which will take place from 6 to 10 March 2019. It attracted nearly 10,000 companies and organizations from 181 countries, more than 80% of them from overseas, with a turn over of more than 7 billion euros. The increases in international participants shows the significance of ITB Berlin to the global market. 

 

Qian Jiannong, Fosun Tourism Chairman and CEO, was invited to give a speech at the opening ceremony. He focused on global family leisure and tourism by creating FOLIDAY ecosystem as the theme, interpret the strategy of Fosun Tourism and promoted FOLIDAY ecosystem.

 

Fosun Tourism began with investment. Starting from investing in Club Med, a well-known all-inclusive" tourism resort group, and Thomas Cook, one of the world’s oldest and leading travel groups. Fosun Tourism has continuously introduced the world's leading leisure and tourism brands. Current brands of investment and cooperation include Atlantis, Mattel, Cirque Du Soleil, etc.

 

As a rising star of tourism industry, Fosun Tourism created a new concept of FOLIDAY ecosystem. Qian Jiannong said: "The FOLIDAY ecosystem will allow all the brands cooperate and empower each other. Make the ecosystem continuously evolve and improve, and provide one-stop leisure tourism and services for families."

 

Take Sanya, China's most famous island resort destination, for example. Nearly all the brands of Fosun Tourism have entered into Sanya's market, including Atlantis, Club Med, Miniversity, Fanxiu, Thomas Cook JV, Foryou Club, etc. They provide one-stop service for consumers and greatly enhance the experience of customers.

 

The result of FOLIDAY ecosystem is increasingly apparent. Jan. 21, Fosun Tourism issued a profit forecast. The net profit of the company is expected to be no less than RMB350 million by Dec 31, 2018. The net loss in 2017 was reversed to the expected net profit in 2018.

 

Atlantis Sanya, reported a strong operating performance during the Chinese New Year vacation period (16 days in total, from Feb. 4 to Feb. 19, 2019). During the Relevant Period, Atlantis Sanya recorded unaudited operating revenue of RMB150.4 million, including room revenue of approximately RMB77.8 million with Occupancy Rate by Room of approximately 93% and other operating revenue related to the Aquarium, the Waterpark, food and beverage and other services of approximately RMB72.6 million. Feb. 22, Fosun Tourism is announced to be included in the HSI, which will take effect on Mar. 11, 2019.
